What is the SAFE Banking Act?
✔ Designed to allow legal marijuana companies to use professional banking services;
✔ Protects banks and credit unions from federal enforcement of banking laws; allows banks to hold money for legal marijuana businesses;
✔ Creates protections for legal hemp companies (thanks to Kentucky Congressman Andy Barr who sponsored this amendment to the bill.
Many hemp companies still struggle to obtain some banking services, and most hemp farms and businesses have had problems gaining access to credit card processing, insurance, and payroll services
